SQL & Oracle DBA

About the Job:

As a Senior Engineer specializing in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies, you will have a critical role in ensuring database performance, reliability, and security. Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing database backup and restore functions, including disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Participating in Change Advisory Board meetings, incident resolution calls, and improvement sessions.
• Performing performance tuning at the SQL instance and database level, including deep tuning and configuration enhancements.
• Conducting SQL code reviews to enforce coding standards and optimize performance.
• Installing necessary database software and features on servers.
• Monitoring database performance and addressing issues using appropriate tools.
• Managing the lifecycle of SQL and Oracle databases to ensure high availability and compliance with recovery objectives.
• Implementing automation for routine tasks with scripting languages like PowerShell, T-SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with solution architects and vendors.

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• At least 6 years of relevant work experience, including 2 years in a similar role.
• Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, and SQL versions (2014, 2017, 2019).
• Expertise in SQL optimization, schema tuning, and deep troubleshooting.
• Knowledgeable in automation, reporting, and performance tuning methodologies.
• Experience managing large database environments and hybrid cloud setups.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
• Professional certification in database administration.
• Familiarity with PowerShell, Windows & Unix administration, and ITIL practices.
