SQL & Oracle DBA

As a Senior Engineer for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies, the SQL & Oracle DBA will be responsible for various critical functions, including database backup and restore operations, ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and technical analysis for current and future projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing database backup and restore, including scheduled DR availability tests.
• Active participation in CAB meetings, DORM calls, escalation calls, and improvement sessions.
• Performing SQL instance/database level performance tuning and participating in SQL code reviews.
• Building and reporting on database performance metrics and optimizing performance.
• Writing SQL scripts for effective data extraction.
• Installing database software/features and monitoring performance.
• Collaborating closely with vendors and external support.
• Architecting and maintaining Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and backup/restore strategies.
• Managing Oracle and SQL database lifecycles, ensuring high availability and replication readiness.

Mandatory Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
• Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, SQL 2014, SQL 2017, SQL 2019, SSIS, SSRS.
• Expertise in SQL optimization and schema tuning, capacity tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with large database environments and hybrid cloud database setups.
• Strong knowledge of industry-standard database management practices and methodologies.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
• Professional certification in database administration
• Powershell, Windows & Unix administration, ITIL
