Position

The company is seeking a Senior SQL & Oracle DBA to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for managing Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies. Your primary duties will include database backup and restore functions, performance tuning, and ensuring high availability and compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). You will actively participate in CAB meetings, escalation calls, and improvement sessions while assisting in technical analysis and project design. Additional responsibilities include writing SQL scripts, monitoring databases for performance issues, and managing the lifecycle of both SQL and Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage database backup, restore, and disaster recovery functions.
  • Participate in performance tuning at the SQL instance and database level.
  • Conduct SQL code reviews to enforce coding standards.
  • Monitor and report on SQL environment performance.
  • Interface with vendors and external support for a stable environment.
  • Architect and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and backup/restore strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with secure data handling and auditing.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
  • Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, SQL Server (2014, 2017, 2019), SSIS, SSRS.
  • Expertise in SQL optimization, schema tuning, and database troubleshooting.
  • Experience with large database environments and hybrid cloud setups.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
  • Professional certification in database administration.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell, Windows & Unix administration, ITIL.
