As a Senior Engineer for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies, you will be responsible for managing database backup and restore functions, including scheduled tests of disaster recovery availability. You will understand and implement MS SQL restoration and availability technologies such as Clustering, Replication, and Always-On. Your role will involve participation in CAB meetings, DORM Calls, escalation calls, and improvement sessions. Additionally, you will perform SQL instance/database level performance tuning and deep tuning of SQL parameter/configuration files, conduct SQL code reviews for application teams to enforce SQL coding standards, and build and report on SQL environment performance and availability metrics. Writing SQL scripts for efficient data extraction, installing database software on servers, and monitoring databases for performance issues will also be part of your responsibilities. You will ensure all database servers meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), collaborate with vendors and external support to maintain a stable environment, and architect and maintain Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and backup/restore strategies. Managing both Oracle and SQL database lifecycles, implementing automation for routine tasks using Powershell, T-SQL, PL/SQL scripting, Cron Jobs, and SQL Jobs, and ensuring compliance with NCA and NDMO for secure data handling and auditing are key aspects of your role. Mentoring L2 Oracle/SQL engineers and collaborating with solution architects is also expected.

Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience in the industry, with a minimum of 2+ years in a similar role.
- Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, SQL (2014, 2017, 2019), SSIS, SSRS.
- Expertise in SQL optimization, schema tuning, capacity tuning, and deep database troubleshooting.
- Experience in large database management and hybrid cloud database setups.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard database management practices and methodologies.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
- Professional certification in database administration.
- Powershell, Windows & Unix administration knowledge.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices.
