The company is seeking a Senior Engineer specializing in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies. The responsibilities include:
- Overseeing database backup and restore functions, including disaster recovery availability.
- Actively participating in CAB meetings, DORM calls, escalation calls, and improvement sessions.
- Conducting performance tuning at the SQL instance/database level and enhancing SQL parameter/configuration files.
- Participating in SQL code reviews to enforce coding standards.
- Reporting on SQL environment performance and availability metrics to implement best practices.
- Assisting in technical analysis and design for projects.
- Writing SQL scripts for efficient data extraction.
- Installing database software/features on servers as needed.
- Monitoring databases for performance and issues with tools.
- Ensuring managed recovery point objectives (RPO) and recovery time objectives (RTO).
- Collaborating with vendors for a stable environment.
- Architecting and maintaining Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and backup/restore strategies.
- Leading performance tuning and complex incident resolution.
- Managing the lifecycle of Oracle and SQL databases, including provisioning, migration, and upgrades.
- Ensuring high availability and replication across data centers.
- Implementing automation for routine tasks with Powershell/T-SQL, PL/SQL, Cron Jobs, and SQL Jobs.
- Ensuring compliance with secure data handling and auditing.
- Mentoring Level 2 Oracle/SQL engineers and interfacing with solution architects.

Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, SQL (2014, 2017, 2019), SSIS, SSRS.
- Expertise in SQL optimization, schema tuning, and database troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with large database environments and hybrid cloud database setups.
- Strong knowledge of industry-standard database management practices.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP).
- Professional certification in database administration.
- Experience in Pandas.
- Windows & Unix administration.
- ITIL certification.
