Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies.
- Responsible for database backup and restore functions, including disaster recovery availability tests.
- Actively participate in CAB meetings, escalation calls, and improvement sessions.
- Tune SQL production databases for performance.
- Conduct SQL code reviews to enforce coding standards.
- Monitor database performance and implement best practices for optimization.
- Lead performance tuning and complex incident resolution.
- Manage database lifecycles, including provisioning, migration, and upgrades.
- Ensure high availability and replication readiness across data centers.
- Implement automation for routine tasks using Powershell/T-SQL, PL/SQL scripting, Cron Jobs, and SQL Jobs.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Typically 6+ years of relevant work experience, with at least 2+ years in a similar role.
- Advanced skills in Oracle 19c+, RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM, SQL 2014, SQL 2017, SQL 2019, SSIS, and SSRS.
- Expertise in SQL optimization and schema tuning, as well as database deep troubleshooting.
- Experience in large database environments and hybrid cloud database setups.
