Responsibilities
- Ability to identify design failures and/or discrepancies.
- Perform various activities related to the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of Telecom systems including PAGA, RADAR, RFID, UHF/VHF radios, antennas, and telephones.
- Inspect all systems for operational readiness.
- Attend and provide input during P&ID reviews, HAZOP & HAZID reviews.
- Produce plans and specific method statements including mark-ups for activities related to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of Telecom systems.
- Conduct line walks, equipment internals inspections, and assess vendor package readiness for commissioning and operation.
- Identify necessary test equipment for testing at the worksite and ensure all testing equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use.
- Lead a team to undertake commissioning activities in projects.
- Interface with other disciplines to ensure the integration of activities.
- Conduct functional and operational tests for various Telecom systems.
- Prepare method statements, procedures, and routines when required.
- Report on work progress, bring potential problems or delays to notice, and recommend solutions.
- Assist during the database preparation for the pre-commissioning status index and commissioning technical database.
- Plan, monitor, and assist vendor activities as required.
- Ensure that temporary supplies and commissioning spares are adequate for testing.
- Perform inter-discipline checks.
- Maintain compliance in accordance with HSE standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecom Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within the oil and gas industry, with at least 4 years in a key role in commissioning.
