Key Responsibilities
- Support component/system/vehicle level troubleshooting using standard communication/diagnostic tools (Canalyzer/Canape, etc.)/RCA test benches
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) of complex component/system level problems using standard problem-solving techniques
- Support lineside trials to verify process/equipment compatibility and RCA activities
- Conduct preliminary PCBA board analysis at the board level
- Audit design intent assembly requirements of the Drive Unit beyond the control plan
- Execute prototype builds, trials, troubleshooting, and RCA of product/multi-variable issues in close collaboration with Engineers on the team
- Assist with vehicle upfits and tests as needed in close collaboration with Engineers on the team
Skills
- Good functional understanding of all systems in EV Powertrain
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills to work effectively with team members at all levels
- Experience in building, testing, and troubleshooting HV battery packs, Drive Units, and Power Electronics Components
- Working knowledge of basic electrical principles
- Strong understanding of proper handling of Battery Cells, Modules, Packs, Power Electronics, and Drive units
- Familiarity with electrical hazard risks, including high voltage systems
- Ability to interpret schematics to understand the function and interfaces of Power Electronics components
- Proficient in using tools for the teardown of electrical systems
- Capable of vehicle-level troubleshooting for powertrain-related faults using standard OBD diagnostic tools
- Skilled in basic machining operations and able to read drawings
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English
- Capability to lift 20-30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds with team assistance
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma with significant relevant professional experience
- Preferred: Technical or Vocational Degree or Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrical, mechatronic, or automotive technician
- Experience using vehicle and system-level communication or diagnostic tools for troubleshooting multi-variable complex issues
- Familiarity with troubleshooting power electronics components/assemblies at the PCBA board level
- Awareness of HV Battery Packs, HV Harnesses, Onboard charging units, Drive Units, Inverter Power Electronics, and associated troubleshooting at both system and product levels
- Prior experience working in a High Voltage environment
