Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic vision for leveraging data to refine and enhance logistics operations, ensuring alignment with Talabat’s broader business goals.
- Champion a data-driven culture within logistics operations, promoting advanced analytics and data science methodologies.
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across product, business, and engineering teams.
- Guide, mentor, and develop a highly skilled team of data scientists and analysts, fostering an innovative work environment.
- Spearhead innovative data science projects, including predictive analytics, machine learning models, and optimization algorithms.
- Ensure the development of a robust and scalable data infrastructure supporting advanced analytics and data science activities.
- Oversee the generation of insightful analytical reports tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for informed decision-making.
- Translate complex data-driven insights into clear, actionable recommendations for various audiences.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in data science and logistics, incorporating cutting-edge practices into Talabat’s strategy.
- Effectively manage resources to balance long-term initiatives and immediate operational needs.
- Design and manage experimental frameworks, such as A/B testing, to guide continuous improvement.
- Provide analytical support for developing KPIs and goal-setting processes aligning with Talabat’s strategic objectives.
- Cultivate an environment of excellence and innovation within the data science team, promoting creative thinking and continuous learning.
Requirements
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in the full data analysis lifecycle, including problem formulation, data auditing, and presentation.
- Advanced skills in data analysis tools and programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Experience in data modeling, dimensional design, and manipulating complex data structures.
- Strong background in experiment design and statistical analysis, including A/B and multivariate tests.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies, preferably with experience in BigQuery and the Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with classical machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) is advantageous.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related fields. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in data science, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing data teams.
- Proven leadership ability in managing high-performing teams and executing strategic plans to meet business objectives.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
