Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to customer and Front-end team:
A Reply to technical queries
B Attend meetings with customers for technical clarifications
- Provide technical support to service centers and field service including but not limited to:
A Review inspection reports
B Provide recommendations for methods of repair
C Determine possible causes of failure based on observations made on components during inspection
D Recommend upgrades based on findings
E Guide and advise on strip down, assembly, and setting for complex equipment in collaboration with Experts
F Assist with instructions for complex commissioning or troubleshooting
- Conduct root cause failure analysis which includes:
A Liaising with customers to gather data required for analysis
B Reviewing site data and reports
C Preparing detailed root cause failure analysis reports including background, results of analysis, and recommendations
- Conduct on-site performance assessments which consist of:
A Taking measurements on equipment at site using vibration analyzer, ultrasonic flow meter, and thermodynamic methods
B Analyzing data collected during the site assessment
C Preparing detailed reports with background, results of analysis, and recommendations
- Liaise with the company factories and overseas engineering teams for additional information needed to address customer queries, support service centers, or conduct root cause failure analyses
- Collaborate with Sales, Tendering, and Engineering for the development of repair and retrofit proposals that meet customer requirements and can be successfully executed
- Conduct detailed engineering as required for the modification and upgrade of equipment in the service center, overseeing and arranging drawings, Bill of Material, and specifications
- Conduct or supervise the reverse engineering of components in the service center or at customer sites using conventional measuring tools and 3D scanning
- Actively support company initiatives aimed at growth
- Provide technical support to Warranty teams for issues encountered during installation, commissioning, operation, and repair of rotating equipment
- Support warranty claim investigations, including troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, and preparation of technical reports that include recommendations
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 10+ years of experience in the rotating equipment industry
- Experience with centrifugal pumps and turbomachinery for Water, Power, and Oil & Gas industries
- Knowledge of industry processes, practices, and standards
- Proficiency in rotating equipment design and selection software
- Design, drafting, and CAD (2D/3D) skills
- Strong computer skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Estimated Travel Time: 30% to 40% (national and international)
- Ability to frequently travel and visit customer sites with assignment periods ranging from 1 day to 2 weeks
- Skills in communication & influencing, customer relationship management, time management, adaptability & initiative, attention to detail, technical & commercial acumen, and project management
