Job Summary: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering/Science and 5+ years of relevant experience in System Administration and Data Center. Preferred additional certifications and experience in a mid/large sized corporate IT environment are necessary. Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, virtualization, provisioning, and knowledge of Data Center facility experience are required. Candidates should have proven experience as a Data Center Specialist, familiarity with ITIL V3 Foundations, strong proficiency in Linux operating systems, and in-depth knowledge of vulnerability management and security best practices.
Position Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
- Monitor system performance and security, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities
- Document processes, configurations, and procedures for future reference
- Manage and administer Microsoft Intune for device management and security
- Configure and deploy policies for mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM)
- Monitor environmental conditions of the data center to ensure optimal conditions for servers and devices
- Install and configure NetBackup customer software on UNIX/Linux and Windows systems
- Resolve operational, infrastructure, or hardware incidents in the data center
- Develop methods to optimize physical arrangements of infrastructure equipment in racks based on cooling and power requirements
- Expertise in installation, configuration, and administration of VMware ESXi hosts and VMware vCenter
- Monitor and maintain server computing resources including CPU, RAM, and memory
- Analyze and respond proactively to trends and issues related to infrastructure
- Address complex problems using various problem-solving techniques
- Escalate issues beyond capability or experience to ensure effective resolution
- Develop short-term and long-term work plans based on business requirements
- Participate in team meetings to contribute ideas and initiatives for improvement
- Recommend initiatives to enhance systems availability, integrity, and capacity
- Prepare RFPs, technical evaluations, and documentation for IT projects
- Conduct research on new technologies that may benefit the business
- Lead and support modernization initiatives for improved infrastructure efficiency
