About the role
The key responsibility of the Sr. Specialist Project Management is to support the Missiles & Weapons cluster PMO team in the planning, administration, governance, and execution of allocated projects and programs, ensuring projects are delivered within the agreed schedule and timeframe. The job incumbent assists the Project Management Specialist in various activities including monitoring project progress, expenditure, and budget, managing resources, highlighting and mitigating potential risks, and preparing documentation.

Key Accountabilities:
- Assist Project Management Specialist in developing comprehensive project plans and detailed project roadmaps for the successful administration, governance, and implementation of allocated projects and programs within the set timelines, budget, and quality parameters.
- Manage each step of allocated projects and programs from planning to completion, including monitoring, reporting, and follow-ups to ensure all activities are executed within the timeframe of the planned schedule.
- Utilize various project management techniques and tools like WBS, PIP, AWPs, etc., to outline the purpose, scope, and requirements of the project and to facilitate effective administration of projects throughout their lifecycle.
- Develop the project initiation document to ensure that projects are carried out consistently and successfully in accordance with organizational strategies.
- Conduct feasibility studies and estimate what resources will be needed to complete the project, including teams and materials, and the budget associated with executing the project.
- Conduct research and data analysis and synthesize/create reports and spreadsheets in Excel based on program needs or program deliverables, to track program benchmarks and make recommendations for change.
- Analyze potential risks, issues, or changes that may affect the project’s timeline and suggest changes accordingly.
- Manage project resources effectively and efficiently to ensure effective delivery of project milestones.
- Implement effective internal communication strategies on projects and programs to provide project management updates to Senior Executives, managers, stakeholders, etc., on the status of milestones and deliverables as well as anticipated issues and challenges.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify impending risks and challenges including unrealistic time and cost estimates, customer review cycles, budget cuts, changing requirements, and lack of committed resources; recommend mitigation actions and solutions.
- Monitor the progress of a project against agreed and documented time, quality, and budget targets and manage project changes to achieve required project outputs.
- Prepare and maintain complete and accurate documents and reports including project expenditure updates and other financial reports.
- Assist in developing strategic frameworks by supporting the setting of long-term objectives, evaluating business opportunities, and aligning projects with organizational goals.
- Support governance oversight by helping establish and enforce policies, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, and maintaining alignment across the cluster's operations.
- Facilitate cross-functional coordination between departments to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, system, aerospace, or aeronautics.
- 5 years of experience working in a project-related environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Proven planning and organizing skills demonstrated and applied via PM tools.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong understanding of products across the M&W Cluster.
