You will extend and automate the existing container orchestration platform to ensure its scalability, reliability, and performance. Collaborating closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) from various teams, you’ll help reduce their cognitive load related to the orchestration platform. Your responsibilities will include implementing and maintaining security best practices, troubleshooting, resolving infrastructure issues, and providing support to team members. Additionally, participation in on-call rotations will be required to ensure the smooth operation of our critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extend and automate the container orchestration platform for enhanced performance.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across the infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations for critical systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong background in Linux, Networking, and Distributed Systems.
- Significant hands-on experience with the Nomad container orchestration platform in a production environment.
- Proficiency in other HashiCorp tools such as Vault and Consul.
- Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Extensive experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
- Strong security mindset with experience implementing security best practices.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment.
Language Requirements: English proficiency preferred, given the international nature of the team (70+ countries represented).
