About the Role The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing various technical audits and control services including design review, specialized studies, and expert studies within their field of competencies. This role involves working closely with the B&I Manager, DR Team Leader, and both internal and external customers to ensure compliance with structural design standards and codes. The position requires strong technical reporting skills in English and a solid understanding of international engineering codes. Key Responsibilities - Perform technical audits, consultancy services, and design reviews within the frame of conformity assessment services. - Prepare technical reports and attend meetings with clients and authorities. - Conduct a variety of structural assessments including foundations, soil excavations, concrete structures, precast and prestressed elements, and steel structures. - Work on specifications, analysis, and calculations related to structural engineering projects. - Conduct site inspections for construction civil works and ensure proper adherence to quality assurance and quality control protocols. - Contribute to best practices dissemination, participate in product development, and assist in linking client needs with the company's services. Position Requirements Minimum Required Qualifications - Education: University Degree in Engineering or a Post-graduate Degree. - Specialties: Experience in design review for various construction materials including concrete, steel, composite, post-tension structures, high-rise buildings, and marine structures. - Training: Knowledge of international design standards (BS, AISC, ACI, IBC) and proficiency in AutoCAD. - Technical Knowledge Levels: - Junior Level: Minimum 3 years of experience in Structural Engineering, conversant with relevant structural design software, and able to prepare 3D finite element structures. - Structural Engineer: Minimum 7 years of experience, with the ability to carry out structural reviews compliant with designated standards. - Senior Structural Engineer: Minimum 15 years of experience, licensed by Dubai Municipality for structural design review of unlimited height, and capable of leading discussions with clients regarding design review services. Performance Monitoring - Time taken to deliver reports to clients. - Quality of reports and inspections conducted. - Identification of commercial opportunities and contribution to sales. - Active sharing of information and best practices in knowledge management. Customer Focus - Understand clients' needs and satisfaction levels to develop necessary business contacts and analyses. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Requirements - Authorized to stop work if conditions are unsafe and must comply with applicable legal requirements and HSE policies. - Promote adherence to health and safety procedures among the project team and conduct routine inspections to monitor compliance. - Responsible for using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensuring project teams are knowledgeable of HSE responsibilities.
