About the Role
The Sr. Technical Professional in Instrumentation and Controls is responsible for the design, specification, and services related to control systems. This includes basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, and valves. The role may also involve advanced controls optimization. Under general supervision, the individual will tackle conventional aspects of functional area subject matter while devising new approaches to problems encountered.

Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and conduct work that requires independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Address and solve issues involving conventional engineering practices, which may include complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitable materials, and challenging coordination needs.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
- Impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, and operations through effective execution of tasks.
- Manage leadership of a functional area on small projects or segments of larger projects, including planning, budgeting, organizing, coordinating, and controlling project activities.
- Conduct employee performance appraisals and provide coaching and development for lower-level professionals.
Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience, with average experience typically ranging between 6-10 years.
- Sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional.
- A broad knowledge of precedents and conventional engineering practices.
- Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.
