About the Role
The Sr. Technical Professional in Instrumentation/Controls is responsible for the design, specification, and services related to control systems. This includes basic process control systems, safety systems, control panels, analyzer systems, telecommunications, field instrumentation, and valves. The role may also involve advanced controls optimization. Under general supervision, the professional will handle various conventional aspects of the functional area, devising new approaches to problems and planning, scheduling, and conducting work that requires independent judgment in selecting and adapting engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Responsibilities
- Perform work that involves conventional engineering practice, while also addressing complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and challenging coordination requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
- Lead a functional area on small projects or segments of larger projects, which includes planning, budgeting, organizing, coordinating, and controlling project activities.
- Responsible for employee performance appraisals and for coaching and developing lower-level professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 4 years of related experience is required, with average experience typically ranging from 6 to 10 years.
- Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained professional.
- A broad knowledge of precedents is necessary for this position.
- Certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer is preferred.
