Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: Full-time; 4 days a week in office & 1 day from home, with the option to work remotely from any country for 30 days a year and unlimited vacation days. (If in an individual contributor role in tech, 2 office days a week and 3 work from home.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the 0-1 AI transformation for the Careem app with a focus on personalization.
- Develop a long-term vision for customer acquisition and engagement using data.
- Conduct exploratory analyses to understand ecosystem and user behavior for product enhancements.
- Optimize data/ML models and produce insights for new opportunities.
- Provide product leadership through data-based recommendations to influence decisions.
- Implement scalable machine learning algorithms for production use on big data.
- Engage in data analysis projects to uncover growth and optimization areas.
- Define and track key metrics, design experiments, analyze data, and communicate results.
- Innovate with new data processing technologies and best practices.
- Build and deploy applications using retrieval augmented generation systems and large language models.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in data mining, predictive modeling, machine learning, and Big Data methodologies.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field (Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science).
- Experience with Deep Learning techniques and 3-4 years in personalization or recommendation systems, preferably in a product-driven environment.
- Strong coding and problem-solving skills; proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, and Hive.
- Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., Hadoop, BigQuery, Oracle) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Experience with LLM and GenAI.
