Key Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support real-time and batch data processing.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and other Engineers to ensure data needs are met for analytics, machine learning, and reporting.
- Design and optimize data storage solutions (data lakes, warehouses, etc.) for performance and scalability.
- Implement best practices in data governance, security, and privacy compliance.
- Lead and mentor a team of data engineers to ensure high-quality data engineering practices.
- Troubleshoot data-related issues and perform root cause analysis to ensure data reliability and accuracy.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve data architecture and processes for better efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on building and scaling data infrastructure in large-scale environments.
- Expertise in SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and query optimization.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala for data processing.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based data technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
- Familiarity with data warehousing solutions (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery) and experience designing ETL pipelines.
- Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
- Strong understanding of data governance, compliance (GDPR, CCPA), and security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Previous e-commerce or product experience is a plus.
