Position

Lead our effort to get Ubuntu fit for applications in automotive, aerospace, industrial robotics, and other highly regulated environments. We seek an individual who can transform complex regulatory demands into concrete outcomes and engineering excellence values. This role involves leading and challenging engineering culture, collaborating with teams across the organization, and ensuring that agile practices are adopted at every level of engineering.

Your responsibilities will include defining Canonical's ways of working, collaborating with engineering leadership to implement continuous improvement processes, and establishing qualification requirements in support of engineering quality standards. You will also define methods for measuring quality and work to shape and enhance engineering culture. Furthermore, you will establish strategic relations with external working groups, committees, and partners.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Strong experience in engineering and process management in an agile environment
  • Knowledge or certification of standards addressing software quality such as ISO/IEC 25010 or ASPICE
  • Proven experience in developing and managing teams
  • Track record of leading successful compliance and certification efforts
  • Familiarity with Linux

Additional Skills:

  • Background as a software developer
  • Experience in establishing product engineering development metrics and KPIs
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
