Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Work Conditions: Full-time, 4 days a week in the office & 1 day from home, with remote work options for 30 days a year and unlimited vacation days.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with engineers across various teams to architect and build scalable and robust backend applications and services.
- Write and review high-quality, performant, and reliable code.
- Continuously improve service quality and help define and enhance team practices.
- Become a subject matter expert and collaborate with Product Managers to refine specifications.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Participate in on-call rotations and help resolve any incidents within defined SLAs.
- Engage in team agile practices and lead their continuous evolution.
Requirements
- 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- 5+ years in designing and architecting new and existing services.
- 5+ years mentoring software engineers.
- Strong understanding of scalable, cloud-native architectures, and microservices.
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (preferably with GitHub Actions).
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Extensive experience with at least one modern language (Java, Golang, or Kotlin).
- Experience designing and building large scale, distributed applications.
- Knowledge of operating production systems and defining metrics for reliable production changes.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Java Spring, Golang, and AWS.
- Familiarity with Kafka.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in a high-paced start-up environment.
