Key Responsibilities:
- Coach and mentor other engineers as a senior member of our Backend chapter.
- Play a major role in architectural decision-making for a platform used by millions.
- Actively participate in migrating our monolithic application into Microservices.
- Design, improve, and secure the overall backend architecture to support massive user and product growth.
- Work with Docker containers, Kubernetes manifests, Terraform, all on Google Cloud Platform.
- Embrace Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, and automated tests (unit, integration, and functional).
- Understand development lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional and agile teams.
- Contribute to test coverage, refactoring, and documentation efforts.
- Apply your code review, debugging, and investigative skills regularly.
Requirements:
- More than 8 years of experience in several programming languages such as GoLang, Ruby on Rails (RoR), Java, Python, NodeJs, or PHP.
- Strong experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, New Relic, Datadog, ELK stack).
- Significant experience building complex, high-quality applications with knowledge of Domain Driven Design and microservice architecture.
- Expertise in selecting best practice Design Patterns and Design Principles for software architectures and algorithms.
- Strong understanding of various databases (like PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL) and their trade-offs.
- Flexible, open-minded personality comfortable with multi-team collaboration.
- Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, Terraform, and caching techniques.
