As a Staff Software Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Owning the technical agenda and driving complex technical initiatives within your domain.
- Serving as a go-to person in your engineering community with deep tech expertise.
- Setting standards of engineering excellence and leading engineers by example.
- Coaching and mentoring other engineers as a senior member of our Backend chapter.
- Playing a major role in architectural decision-making for a platform used by millions of people.
- Actively participating in the design, improvement, and securing of the overall backend architecture to support massive growth in users and products.
- Supporting teams in infrastructure management in a cloud environment.
- Embracing Design Driven Development, SOLID Principles, Event-driven Architecture, Algorithms, and automated tests (unit, integration, and functional).
- Collaborating with cross-functional and agile teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Contributing to continuous efforts in test coverage, refactoring, and documentation.
- Performing regular code reviews, debugging, and investigations.
Qualifications:
- More than 8 years of experience in several programming languages such as GoLang, RoR, Java, Python, NodeJs, and PHP.
- Strong experience with common observability tools like Grafana, Datadog, and New Relic.
- Expertise in building complex, high-quality applications with strong knowledge of Domain Driven Design and microservice architecture.
- Proficiency in selecting best practice Design Patterns and Design Principles when building Software Architectures and Algorithms.
- Strong knowledge of various databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and NoSQL along with their tradeoffs.
- Flexible and open-minded personality, comfortable working with multiple teams.
- Strong experience with Docker & Kubernetes, GCP, AWS, and Terraform.
Language Requirements:
Experience with or a willingness to learn German is a plus.
