Responsibilities

Team Level:
- Serve as the voice of your chapter, guiding teams on chapter direction and providing hands-on technical mentorship.
- Drive critical, complex initiatives that impact multiple teams.

Domain Level:
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Data counterparts (senior managers or directors, senior engineers).
- Improve systems and processes by simplifying complex issues and removing bottlenecks.
- Lead the RFC review process to enhance insight into our overall app architecture.

Chapter Level:
- Contribute significantly to the evolution of the Chapter Vision & Strategy.
- Sponsor key Chapter initiatives and coordinate mentorship across the wider tech organization.

Tech Org Level:
- Enhance overall developer experience through branding initiatives, hiring, and improving team effectiveness.
- Critically assess and drive improvements within the organization.
Qualifications
- Empathetic and able to build strong relationships easily.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Humble, curious, and open-minded with a growth mindset, thriving on continuous feedback.
- Strong understanding of lean/agile values & principles and associated practices.
- Solid experience in building large-scale applications using modern programming languages (e.g., C#, Java, Go, etc.).
- Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers.
- Minimum 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an Extreme Programming environment (TDD, Pair Programming, Simple Design, and Continuous Refactoring).
- Expert knowledge in Distributed Systems Architecture (Microservices, Event-Driven, RESTful Services).
- Familiarity with mobile landscape and emerging technologies.
- Proficiency in automated testing with a focus on end-to-end quality.
- Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience in building, maintaining, and improving software using Trunk Based Development and Continuous Delivery.
