Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review structural designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documents for steel structures and metalwork.
- Perform structural analysis and design in accordance with applicable international standards and project specifications.
- Prepare structural GA drawings, fabrication/shop drawings, connection details, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, project engineers, production, and fabrication teams.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and project requirements.
- Ensure designs are practical and suitable for fabrication, erection, and site installation.
- Coordinate closely with the production and fabrication teams to resolve technical and design-related issues.
- Review and approve shop/fabrication drawings and provide technical clarifications when required.
- Conduct design checks and identify potential clashes, discrepancies, and constructability issues.
- Support material take-offs, quantity calculations, and technical submissions.
- Assist with engineering changes, revisions, variations, and project documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, safety requirements, and client specifications.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and installation when required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in structural engineering/design.
- UAE experience is preferred.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication, steel structures, metal works, PEB, or industrial projects is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel design, connections, fabrication, and erection.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Software Requirements
Experience with one or more of the following:
- STAAD.Pro
- ETABS
- SAP2000
- Tekla Structures
- Revit Structure
- AutoCAD
- Robot Structural Analysis
- IDEA StatiCa or similar structural design software
