Responsibilities
As a Structural Engineer, you will plan and design various structures and facilities, including:
- Bridges
- Railroads
- Roads
- Airports
- Harbors
- Dams
- Irrigation projects
- Pipelines
- Tunnels
- Power plants
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
- Preparing standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Preparing detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
- Reviewing small portions of larger supplier drawing submittals and assisting in performing technical bid analyses.
- Preparing and issuing specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
- Providing input and technical guidance to CAD Designers/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
- Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Required Skills
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field) with 7+ years of relevant work experience.
- An Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate may be required.
- Strong knowledge of the BIM process.
- Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering.
