What You'll Be Doing:
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges/viaducts works and associated items.
- Coordinate direct activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and other correspondence related to the bridges section and prepare replies for the Resident Engineer's review.
- Coordinate with design engineers for resolution of related issues.
- Maintain the daily diary and daily reports by the inspectors.
- Coordinate with contractor engineers on scheduling and resource application.
- Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
- Convene and chair special meetings with service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors, and other related parties.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures.
- Prepare/Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site as required.
- Provide necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions regarding utilities works and associated items.
- Check and measure the performed work in line with your responsibilities, record, and assist the Resident Engineer to display progress versus programmed work.
- Ensure correctness and completeness of 'as-built' drawings.
- Keep necessary records and take charge of handing over the structural works to respective authorities and assist the contractor in obtaining necessary final clearances.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction supervision of bridges and underpasses.
- Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize software for data access, record maintenance, report generation, and relevant engineering and construction tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, particularly in technical writing.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience in all aspects of civil supervision of major bridges and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region.
- Engineering consultancy experience within the UAE/GCC region is preferred.
