What You'll Be Doing:
- Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges/viaducts works and associated items.
- Coordinate direct activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
- Assist in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and other correspondence related to the bridges section; prepare replies for the review of the Resident Engineer.
- Coordinate with the company's design engineers for resolving related issues.
- Maintain daily diaries and reports by inspectors.
- Collaborate with contractor engineers on scheduling and resource application.
- Direct, assist, and monitor inspectors and surveyors as applicable.
- Convene and chair special meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other related parties.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Oversee the achievement of safety goals and implementation of safety procedures on the project.
- Prepare and assist in the creation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
- Participate in all health and safety matters at the site as required by the Resident Engineer and project safety representatives.
- Provide on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions related to utility works and associated items.
- Check and measure completed work, record progress, and support the Resident Engineer in displaying progress vs. programmed work.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of 'as-built' drawings.
- Maintain necessary records and assist in handing over structural works to the appropriate service authorities; support the contractor in obtaining final clearance.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction supervision of bridges and underpasses is necessary.
- Ability to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, and implement quality measures ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Proficient in using computer technology for data access, record maintenance, report generation, and project-specific engineering and construction software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong technical writing capabilities.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Experience in civil supervision of major bridges and infrastructure projects in the Gulf region is preferred.
- Engineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC is preferable.
