Responsibilities
As a Civil Inspector, you will be responsible for:

  • Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and taking appropriate action in a timely manner.
  • Reviewing submitted shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, and statutory requirements, ensuring compliance with international best practices.
  • Reporting any works carried out by the contractor that do not comply with approved drawings and specifications and notifying stakeholders for appropriate action.
  • Monitoring the quality of works, assessing site safety, including health and environmental issues, and ensuring compliance with contractual/QCS specifications and safety/risk assessments.
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of daily activities on site, including progress photos, and ensuring easy access for inspections as required.
  • Preparing surveillance reports for work deficiencies and issuing non-conformance reports (NCRs) when necessary, based on evolving site conditions.
  • Ensuring effective coordination between discipline-related works and other disciplines.
  • Providing technical input and expertise to resolve discipline-related issues that may arise on site.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in civil engineering.
  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
