We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee the mechanical maintenance activities of CNC machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), and associated production equipment within a high-performance manufacturing environment. This role requires strong technical expertise in CNC machine maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, and reliability improvement, combined with proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise daily mechanical maintenance activities for CNC machines, SPMs, and associated production equipment.
  • Lead preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities in line with maintenance schedules, OEM recommendations, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor machine breakdowns, assign resources, and ensure timely restoration of equipment to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support troubleshooting of recurring and complex mechanical failures.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of spindles, bearings, ball screws, linear guideways, gearboxes, couplings, belts, pulleys, and machine axes.
  • Oversee troubleshooting and maintenance of Automatic Tool Changers (ATC), Automatic Pallet Changers (APC), tool magazines, fixtures, chucks, and clamping systems.
  • Manage maintenance activities related to hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, power units, hoses, and fittings.
  • Supervise pneumatic systems maintenance, including actuators, air cylinders, FRL units, valves, and associated components.
  • Ensure effective maintenance of lubrication and coolant systems to maximize equipment performance and lifespan.
  • Coordinate machine alignment, levelling, precision measurement, and condition monitoring activities.
  • Monitor the condition of rotating equipment and mechanical components, initiating repairs and replacements as required.
  • Support CNC machine installation, relocation, dismantling, reinstallation, and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor vibration, temperature, leakage, and other equipment condition indicators to identify potential failures before breakdowns occur.
  • Drive reliability improvement initiatives aimed at increasing machine availability, improving MTBF, and reducing MTTR.
  • Coordinate with OEM service engineers, contractors, and suppliers for specialist maintenance support.
  • Review spare parts requirements and work closely with procurement and stores teams to ensure availability of critical components.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspections, repairs, spare parts consumption, and equipment history using SAP or CMMS systems.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, maintenance standards, and company safety requirements.
  • Support the preparation of maintenance plans, manpower forecasts, budgets, and management reports.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, rotating equipment, machine alignment, and precision maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, TPM, and reliability-centered maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, spare parts management, MTTR, MTBF, and maintenance KPI management.
  • Good understanding of HSE requirements, LOTO procedures, and safe mechanical maintenance practices.

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Experience maintaining CNC machines, SPMs, industrial machinery, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory, team lead, or senior technician capacity.
  • Proven experience planning maintenance activities, allocating manpower, and coordinating with production teams.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding experience.
