Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer will participate in supplier process reviews, quality audits, Control Plan development, process capability and gage studies, and other milestone events. They will also engage in initial and sustaining part qualification, including part approval activities according to the criticality level of the component. The engineer will take the lead on supplier quality assessments during supplier qualification and selection activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, and report Quality Performance Metrics of actual supplier performance.
• Identify opportunities for supplier development and process improvement activities, driving corrective actions and root cause analysis as necessary.
• Initiate, review and track Supplier Corrective Actions Requests until actions have been implemented and verified as effective.
• Assess the quality and compliance with specifications and standards, resolving quality issues with suppliers.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that incoming materials meet the required specifications.
• Develop quality improvement plans with suppliers and ensure their effective implementation.
• Mentor lower-grade production operators, promoting Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental management systems.
• Ensure routine tasks are completed as planned, identifying labor/material cost savings as part of ongoing improvements/lean initiatives.
• Improve production output as part of ongoing improvements/lean initiatives.
• Identify QHSE issues and coordinate with concerned departments or Safety Officers for resolution.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical concepts.
• UAE Driving license is required.
• Ability to adhere to HSE policy and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
• Familiarity with emergency equipment and procedures.
