About the Job: This is a fast-paced engineering role focusing on Linux-based software-defined infrastructure and applications. The position covers all layers of the technology stack, including bare metal, virtualization (KVM), and containerization (Docker and LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph and Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN and Core networking), as well as OpenStack and Kubernetes. In this position, you will be responsible for resolving complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, and/or Kubernetes. You will maintain a close working relationship with the company's field, support, and product engineering teams, participate in upstream communities, and debug issues while proposing workarounds, collaborating with Software Engineers on patches. The role demands the ability to troubleshoot effectively, prioritizing work according to business needs, and participating in regular weekend rotations, serving as the final escalation point for operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve complex issues related to Ubuntu, OpenStack, Ceph, and/or Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to maintain effective customer relations.
  • Engage in upstream communities to contribute to open source projects.
  • Use debugging tools to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Maintain clear and concise technical communication.
  • Participate in team activities focused on improving processes and tools.
  • Travel for team meetings, events, and conferences (up to 4 times a year).

Requirements:

  • Professional experience in troubleshooting advanced Linux issues.
  • Background in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Strong experience with Linux, LXD, OpenStack, Ceph, or Kubernetes.
  • Proficient in debugging languages such as Python, Go, C, or C++.
  • Familiarity with git and source code management.
  • Willingness to travel for internal events.
