Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT Operations.
Scope of the Job
- Run all operation tasks on all mission-critical banking applications.
- Monitor and ensure service availability for 24x7 hours.
- Take data backups of all business applications.
- Ensure data replication from main sites to DR sites (Bahrain and London).
- Escalate user-reported and system/application faults.
- Take over first-level help desk responsibility after normal working hours.
- Support other IT teams.
Areas of Knowledge / Experience
- Data Center Operations experience in monitoring, incident handling, and escalation.
- Experience working in the banking domain or with financial institutions.
- Working knowledge of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- IT certifications in Windows, Linux, SQL, etc., will be an advantage.
- Non-IT certifications like ITIL are a plus.
Principal Responsibilities
- Run IT operations including end-of-day tasks, start-of-day tasks, backups, restores, and data replication.
- Provide round-the-clock support in accordance with bank operation procedures.
- Manage and monitor operating systems, including Windows, Solaris, and Linux.
- Familiarity with hardware components and their functions.
- Utilize Help Desk applications effectively.
- Manage and maintain backup and restore procedures.
- Monitor database performance and tune memory, I/O, and SQL, escalating issues as necessary.
- Conduct database recovery in case of failures.
- Activate and operate disaster recovery centers.
- Monitor and escalate database growth and disk space issues.
- Monitor alert log files for potential database problems.
- Use Veritas NetBackup and VEEAM software to monitor offline and online cold backups.
- Monitor alerts and job flows on Control-M.
