Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux distributions (Ubuntu, RHEL, CentOS, Debian).
- Perform routine system administration tasks, including patching, monitoring, performance tuning, and basic capacity management.
- Monitor system health and respond to operational issues and alerts.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery processes.
- Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP under established standards.
- Support Linux-based services such as web, database, and authentication services.
- Assist with virtualization platforms including VMware, Proxmox, and Hyper-V.
- Support Windows and Linux-based storage and NAS systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and OS-level issues across environments.
- Follow defined security baselines, access controls, and patching requirements.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, development teams, and IT stakeholders.
Work Environment & Expectations:
This role supports production systems in a dynamic environment. Participation in an on-call rotation and availability outside standard business hours may be required during incidents or peak production periods.
Required Qualifications:
- 3–6 years of experience in Windows and Linux system administration.
- Solid knowledge of Windows Server technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and ADDS, M365 Entra, and Intune Group Policy.
- Working knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMWare and Proxmox) and storage systems.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs).
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- CompTIA Linux+ or Security+
