Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain smooth operation of computer systems, including operating systems, software, and hardware in networked or stand-alone configurations.
- Maintain system integrity and perform necessary upgrades to systems and/or servers.
- Create and document new methods for supporting network/system operations and implement changes to procedures.
- Consult with support teams, help desks, customers, and other technical staff to resolve problems.
- Coordinate and perform operation and/or maintenance activities for networks/servers.
- Identify recurring problems and recommend solutions to reduce their severity or frequency.
- Plan for the transition of development and/or production environments to new technologies.
- Utilize system software to monitor performance, manage data to maintain performance efficiencies, and study system requirements to determine installation methods and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in the design, maintenance, and operation of small to medium networks.
- Experience administering corporate or business user accounts managing mail servers, printer servers, web servers, and/or firewalls.
- Experience in systems management, monitoring, sustainment, and hardware repair for servers and PCs.
- Proficiency in software installation, maintenance, and sustainment.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting military networks, including Microsoft Enterprise Server 2008/2012 or later, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013 or later, Microsoft Active Directory 2008/2012 or later, and network server backups (DHCP, DNS, WINS, and domain controllers).
Clearance Required: Secret
Education: High School diploma with 6 - 9 years of experience or commensurate experience.
Certifications:
- Meet certification requirements of DoD 8570.01-M
- Security+
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) - Windows 10 or newer
- MCSA - Windows Server 2012 or newer or MCSA - SQL Server 2012/2014
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) - Mobility
- MCSE - Data Management and Analytics
