Key Responsibilities:
- System Architecture Design:
Develop and document the overall system architecture, ensuring alignment with project objectives, operational requirements, and stakeholder needs. Define system interfaces, integration strategies, and data exchange protocols for critical subsystems such as signaling (e.g., CBTC), telecommunications, AFC, SCADA, and power systems.
- Requirements and Design Management:
Analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for system-level design and performance. Ensure end-to-end traceability and compliance with contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Integration and Interoperability:
Lead the integration of hardware and software components across subsystems to ensure seamless interoperability. Establish integration protocols to align signaling, rolling stock, passenger information systems, and control systems.
- Testing and Commissioning:
Develop and implement testing strategies and commissioning plans for validating the system architecture and subsystem integration. Oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and system-level commissioning activities. Ensure all testing and commissioning activities meet safety, performance, and operational standards.
- Technical Leadership:
Provide expert guidance to multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and vendors, to ensure adherence to the system architecture design. Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues during design, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Compliance and Standards:
Ensure system design, integration, and commissioning activities comply with international standards such as IEC, ISO, IEEE, and EN. Collaborate with safety and cybersecurity teams to ensure robust, secure, and resilient system operations.
- Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for innovation and system optimization throughout the project lifecycle. Incorporate emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.
