Key Responsibilities
- System Architecture Design:
- Develop and document the overall system architecture, ensuring alignment with project objectives, operational requirements, and stakeholder needs.
- Define system interfaces, integration strategies, and data exchange protocols for critical subsystems such as signaling (e.g., CBTC), telecommunications, AFC, SCADA, and power systems.
- Requirements and Design Management:
- Analyze project requirements and translate them into technical specifications for system-level design and performance.
- Ensure end-to-end traceability and compliance with contractual, operational, and regulatory requirements.
- Integration and Interoperability:
- Lead the integration of hardware and software components across subsystems to ensure seamless interoperability.
- Establish integration protocols to align signaling, rolling stock, passenger information systems, and control systems.
- Testing and Commissioning:
- Develop and implement testing strategies and commissioning plans for validating the system architecture and subsystem integration.
- Oversee factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and system-level commissioning activities.
- Ensure all testing and commissioning activities meet safety, performance, and operational standards.
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert guidance to multidisciplinary teams, including contractors and vendors, to ensure adherence to the system architecture design.
- Conduct technical reviews and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues during design, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure system design, integration, and commissioning activities comply with international standards such as IEC, ISO, IEEE, and EN.
- Collaborate with safety and cybersecurity teams to ensure robust, secure, and resilient system operations.
- Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for innovation and system optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
- Incorporate emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance system performance and reliability.
