We are seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer – UAV Mission Systems to lead the design, integration, validation, and lifecycle management of core and mission-specific subsystems across ADASI’s UAV platforms. This role is essential for delivering advanced ISR, EW, and payload systems that fulfill the operational, environmental, and regulatory requirements of our defense customers. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure our platforms are mission-ready, secure, and optimized for performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and manage system-level requirements for mission payloads including EO/IR, SIGINT, COMINT, and tactical datalinks.
  • Develop architecture and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for integration with avionics, sensors, and autopilots.
  • Lead integration of COTS and custom mission systems onto UAV platforms.
  • Develop and execute V&V plans across ground, simulation, and flight testing environments.
  • Analyze telemetry and test data to validate mission system performance.
  • Ensure compliance with DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD-461/810, and GCAA/MoD standards.
  • Prepare system documentation for certification, traceability, and configuration control.
  • Participate in SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and QR reviews; engage with suppliers and defense end-users.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Avionics, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or related field (required).
  • Master’s degree in Systems or Mission Engineering (preferred).
  • 10–15 years of experience in aerospace defense or UAV mission systems engineering.
  • Proven expertise in integrating ISR and RF-based payloads on UAV or manned aircraft.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and military system integration.

Technical Tools:

  • Systems engineering tools: IBM DOORS, Polarion, SysML/UML.
  • Communication protocols: ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet, UART.
  • Environments: VxWorks, QNX, Embedded Linux.
  • Testing: HIL platforms, telemetry analysis tools, flight test planning.
  • Standards: DO-178C, DO-254, MIL-STD-810/461, GCAA airworthiness.
