We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on System Integration and Prototyping Technician to join our product development team. This critical role involves bringing our innovative designs to life through the assembly, wiring, and testing of hardware prototypes. The ideal candidate will be a meticulous problem-solver with a solid background in electrical and mechanical assembly, collaborating closely with our engineering team to turn concepts into functional prototypes ready for validation and testing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assembly: Build, wire, and assemble complex hardware prototypes based on engineering schematics and CAD drawings.
  • Prototyping: Operate prototyping equipment, including 3D printers and laser cutters, to fabricate custom parts and enclosures.
  • Testing: Conduct functional and stress tests on prototypes and components, identifying issues to ensure they meet design specifications in various environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair problems with hardware, wiring, and electronics during assembly and testing phases.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of assembly processes, test results, and any modifications made to prototypes.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Hands-On Skills: Proven experience with electrical wiring, soldering, and mechanical assembly.
  • Technical Reading: Ability to interpret detailed electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Prototyping Equipment: Practical experience with prototyping tools such as 3D printers and common shop equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: A logical and systematic approach to troubleshooting and identifying root causes of issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of assembly, wiring, and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in a technical field, or relevant certifications and equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a hardware technician, prototyping, or manufacturing role.
  • Experience with electronics, sensors, and basic programming concepts is advantageous.
