We are seeking a Test Equipment Development Systems Engineer to join our Engineering & Technology team. In this position, you will design, develop, and validate custom and commercial test equipment essential for the functional verification and performance assurance of ADASI’s UAV platforms. This includes leading the creation of automated test benches, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulators, and diagnostic tools to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and adherence to aerospace defense standards. Your contributions will be vital for the mission-readiness and reliability of advanced unmanned systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop custom test equipment (both hardware and software) for avionics, propulsion, and communication systems
- Define technical requirements for automated test equipment (ATE), integration benches, and simulation rigs
- Develop and automate test scripts using LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, etc.
- Integrate test platforms with telemetry, data acquisition (DAQ) systems, and real-time HIL environments
- Ensure compliance with aerospace protocols: MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN Bus, Ethernet
- Support verification and validation (V&V) activities including calibration, root cause analysis, and preventive maintenance
- Provide support during platform, subsystem, and environmental testing campaigns
- Maintain technical documentation, version control, and test equipment manuals
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or Systems Engineering (required); Master’s degree in Test Systems or Automation Engineering (preferred)
- Experience: 10+ years in aerospace, UAV, or defense test equipment development; Proven experience in building ATE, integration rigs, or HIL setups for complex systems; Familiarity with safety-critical hardware/software testing and validation
- Technical Tools:
- Programming: LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++
- Tools: Data acquisition systems, signal conditioning, PCB debugging tools
- Standards: MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN, Ethernet
- Systems Engineering: DOORS or equivalent requirements tools
- Hardware: Cable harnessing, interface boards, calibration equipment
