Key Priorities:
- Improve Delivery Velocity: Identify and remove bottlenecks across the engineering lifecycle; establish metrics, streamline release processes, and improve predictability of delivery.
- Drive AI Adoption: Define and execute a strategy for embedding AI into engineering workflows, tooling, and product development.
- Build Engineering Culture: Establish engineering standards, governance, and processes; create a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Tackle Technical Debt: Assess and prioritize remediation efforts aligned with long-term architectural goals.
- Scale the Engineering Organisation: Partner with talent acquisition to grow the team, ensuring quality and cultural alignment across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set the technical vision and engineering strategy.
- Lead and develop engineering managers, SMEs, and senior engineers.
- Own engineering delivery performance and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with various multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive outcomes.
- Represent engineering in senior leadership forums and client engagements.
Technical Landscape:
The role provides strategic oversight across various technology stacks, requiring a strong understanding of the technologies in use.
Requirements:
- Significant experience leading engineering organizations of 50+ in a Tech/SaaS environment.
- Proven track record of improving delivery velocity and engineering maturity at scale.
- Experience introducing AI tooling and practices into engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of both back end and front end technologies.
- Experience building engineering teams across multiple geographies, ideally in the MENA region.
Desirable:
Experience in a consulting or digital services environment, and familiarity with Saudi Arabia's digital transformation landscape, particularly aligned with Vision 2030 programs.
