What you’ll do:
- Own the technical accounting agenda, including drafting and maintaining global accounting policies, memos, and guidance notes.
- Provide technical IFRS advice on transactions (M&A, restructurings, new contracts, debt/equity issuances, joint ventures, etc.).
- Partner with auditors, legal, tax, FP&A, and senior leadership to resolve complex accounting matters.
- Lead and manage projects related to new IFRS implementations, system changes, or reporting enhancements.
- Keep business stakeholders informed of emerging accounting standards, local GCC regulations, and industry best practices.
- Represent the company in discussions with external auditors and, where relevant, contribute to comment letters or industry forums.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in technical accounting or financial reporting.
- Strong exposure to IFRS standards (IFRS 9, 15, 16, 3, 10).
- Experience drafting technical accounting memos, policies, and position papers.
- A background in Big 4 accounting/advisory (Audit, Accounting Advisory Services, or Transaction Accounting) is strongly preferred.
- A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA (or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently, perform in-depth technical research, and communicate complex issues to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience managing regional or multi-jurisdictional entities in the GCC is a strong plus.
