This position requires ownership of the technical accounting agenda, including drafting and maintaining global accounting policies, memos, and guidance notes. You will be responsible for providing technical IFRS advice on transactions such as M&A, restructurings, new contracts, debt/equity issuances, and joint ventures. Collaboration with auditors, legal, tax, FP&A, and senior leadership will be vital in resolving complex accounting matters, while leading and managing projects related to new IFRS implementations, system changes, or reporting enhancements will be imperative. You will keep business stakeholders informed of emerging accounting standards, local GCC regulations, and industry best practices. Additionally, you will represent the company in discussions with external auditors and contribute to comment letters or industry forums as relevant.

Responsibilities
- Own the technical accounting agenda, including drafting and maintaining global accounting policies, memos, and guidance notes.
- Provide technical IFRS advice on transactions (M&A, restructurings, new contracts, debt/equity issuances, joint ventures, etc.).
- Partner with auditors, legal, tax, FP&A, and senior leadership to resolve complex accounting matters.
- Lead and manage projects related to new IFRS implementations, system changes, or reporting enhancements.
- Keep business stakeholders informed of emerging accounting standards, local GCC regulations, and industry best practices.
- Represent the company in discussions with external auditors and contribute to comment letters or industry forums when relevant.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in technical accounting or financial reporting.
- Strong exposure to IFRS standards (IFRS 9, 15, 16, 3, 10).
- Experience drafting technical accounting memos, policies, and position papers.
- A background in Big 4 accounting/advisory (Audit, Accounting Advisory Services, or Transaction Accounting) is strongly preferred.
- A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA (or equivalent).
- Ability to work independently, perform in-depth technical research, and communicate complex issues to non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience managing regional or multi-jurisdictional entities in the GCC is a strong plus.
