Technical Architect / Engineering Lead

About the Job:
The company has an immediate opening for a Technical Architect / Engineering Lead in Abu Dhabi. The role involves hands-on coding and building solutions from scratch while enforcing software engineering best practices. The successful candidate will work closely with feature teams and lead a community of developers to enhance engineering maturity across all squads.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hands-On Engineering: Code alongside squads, ensure compliance with software engineering practices, and deliver cloud-native services.
• Software Factory & CI/CD: Define and enforce CI/CD pipelines, code review standards, and establish observability patterns.
• Cloud Adoption: Drive cloud-native design patterns across squads and enforce infrastructure-as-code practices with a focus on security and cost efficiency.
• Reusable Building Blocks: Design and code shared libraries and project archetypes.
• Feature Team Enablement: Conduct code reviews, workshops, and mentor developers.
• Developer Community: Facilitate tech talks, coding dojos, and maintain an engineering playbook.

Expected Deliverables:

• Engineering Playbook
• Reusable building blocks and CI/CD pipeline templates
• Architecture Decision Records and monthly reports on code quality and community activities

Skillset and Experience:

• Technical (Must-Have): 10+ years in software development, expertise in Java (Spring Boot), C# (.NET Core), Python, or Kotlin, and deep knowledge of software best practices.
• Domain (Strongly Preferred): Experience in Capital Markets or Investment Banking.
• Soft Skills: Proven mentoring ability, strong technical writing skills, and a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; certifications are a plus but not a substitute for hands-on experience.
