The company is looking for an exceptionally talented Technical Director to join our team in Riyadh! In this role, you will lead and direct the technical aspects of a mega infrastructure project exceeding $2 billion in total installed cost. The Technical Director will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the project, ensuring that engineering, design review, and technical disciplines are properly coordinated and that the project is delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and direction to the project team.
- Ensure all technical aspects align with project goals and objectives.
- Oversee design and engineering processes across all disciplines, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders for seamless technical integration.
- Facilitate communication between different technical disciplines and project teams.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures for technical excellence.
- Conduct regular technical audits and reviews to identify and mitigate risks.
- Identify and resolve technical issues arising during the project lifecycle.
- Provide innovative solutions to complex design and engineering challenges.
- Manage technical resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Ensure technical teams are adequately staffed and equipped to meet demands.
- Engage with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to meet their technical requirements.
- Represent the project in technical meetings and presentations.
- Assist in the development and management of project budgets and schedules from a technical perspective.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 20+ years of experience in design review, engineering, and technical management in large-scale, multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects (e.g., railways, highways, bridges, airports).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to effectively engage with clients, design consultants, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven supervisory and managerial capabilities, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable design, engineering, and construction innovations.
- Experience in Saudi Arabia and/or the GCC.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and current technology.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, including technical audits and reviews.
- Knowledge of budget and schedule management from a technical standpoint.
Desired Skills:
- Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in English is required.
