As a Technical Manager in the AI space, you will lead a team of AI engineers focused on building and scaling GenAI solutions. You should have deep hands-on experience with Generative AI development, including LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and prompt engineering. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP is essential. This role requires strong technical leadership, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive innovation across enterprise-grade AI platforms.

As a Technical Manager, you will manage the technical lifecycle of the relevant technologies and services under the technical manager responsibilities. You will design, engineer, plan, implement, operate and support each technology, ensuring they meet business requirements and comply with corporate policy and standards. A Technical Manager will provide documented operational processes and procedures for 1st and 2nd level operational support groups, as well as act as a centre of excellence and 3rd level support for the respective technologies and ensure the respective technologies have optimum capacity and availability to meet the existing and future needs of the business. You will manage and minimize risks within the respective technologies.

Responsibilities

• Define KPIs for the teams in line with departmental goals and objectives. Consistently meet or exceed agreed KPIs. Ensure all communications, reports, and updates are accurate and consistently delivered in a timely manner.
• Ensure technologies comply with corporate security policies and procedures, and all audit observations, risks, and/or exceptions are identified and positively managed.
• Responsible for providing 3rd level support for the relevant technology environment to the Incident and Problem Management teams ensuring efficient root cause analysis is provided and avoiding reoccurrence of incidents.
• Collaborate closely with all IT teams to deliver products and services that contribute to the organization's growth.
• Responsible for setting clear and consistent performance objectives, implementing performance management and development plans to ensure standards of performance and productivity are achieved and maintained.
• Identify and develop needed products or services by creating Business Cases, conducting RFTs, and coordinating with various stakeholders inside IT as well as other departments.
• Develop and effectively manage the team and technology budgets.
• Work closely with teams responsible for vendor management and vendor contract negotiations, to ensure SLAs are monitored and managed.
• Provide technical consultancy and guidance to team members and technical managers of other technologies.
• Identify areas of improvement in existing technologies, including end-of-life technology replacement and evaluation of new relevant technologies.

Qualifications
To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

• Degree in a subject relevant to IT
• Experience of specialist technical experience, within a business IT environment

• Client-server technologies and architecture
• Operating Systems, Hypervisors, Storage & Backup Technologies and architecture
• IT security and protection, cyber defense technologies and architecture
