Job Purpose
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support, and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment, and weapons. This role requires the successful candidate to manage and be responsible for all technical aspects of the Aircrew Training Devices (ATD) and Mission Support Systems (MSS), associated with the delivery of the RSAF Tornado Operations & Training Services required under the Tornado Support Service (TSS) Statement of Work (SoW).
Job Accountabilities
- Efficient coordination & scheduling of the ATD and MSS technical activities being completed in support of the delivery of the TSS Tornado Operations and Training Services, including timely communication with relevant stakeholders and the accurate monitoring and recording of these activities.
- Liaison with and briefing RSAF and Supplier Customer representatives, at KAAB, on technical activities relating to the delivery of the TSS Tornado Operations & Training Services.
- Acting as a point of contact for technical direction for the Company senior management, the ATD Aircrew Supervisors, the ATD & MSS RSAF liaison personnel, and the BAE Systems / Sub-Contractor workforce.
- Shall take the leading role in day-to-day management of all technical and Supplier maintenance activities within the scope of the ATD and MSS Services and provide effective delivery. A key supporter to enable the delivery of a high standard of aircrew instructional training utilizing fit-for-purpose ATDs as well as provisioning of Mission Support Systems to support RSAF Flying Operations.
- Primary management customer is the Head of Tornado Operations & Training.
- Responsible for supporting the Head of Tornado Operations & Training in the technical aspects of delivering TSS Operations & Training Services project.
- Provision of timely, considered advice to the Head of Tornado Operations & Training on the efficient delivery of the Tornado Operations & Training Services.
- Shall interface with relevant RSAF Customers, Project Managers, Project Teams, Sub-contractors, and BAE Systems employees.
Recruitment Specification
- Extensive experience in a senior project engineering leadership position.
- Working familiarity with RSAF Tornado aircraft systems and operations.
- Demonstrable experience in the specification, design, development, integration, and acceptance of military aircrew training devices and mission support systems.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of managing and delivering business within a military Defence contracting environment in KSA or the Middle East.
- Experience in project engineering management within the industry/sector knowledge; leading significant and diverse projects, with an understanding of all parts of the business lifecycle and associated governance requirements.
- Experience of managing Customers, Contractors, Suppliers, Vendors, and teams in the delivery of complex project requirements to cost, schedule, and quality, with a High level of awareness of the LCM Process as it relates to the both delivery and support contracts within the TSS Project.
- High level of verbal and written English communication skills, with competency with the MS Office suite of administrative applications.
- Experience in a management team in a large multi-national complex Programme.
- Understanding of RSAF operational doctrine at operating base locations.
