As a Technical Manager, you will:
- Review and approve discipline staffing assignment schedules for each project.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels, including temporary personnel when needed.
- Review and approve staff forecasting reports.
- Manage all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program.
- Coordinate discipline staffing requirements for the program.
- Monitor the quality and progress of designs on each project, ensuring production requirements are met.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted issues related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.
- Establish standards and procedures manuals for the discipline and recommend improvements to departmental procedures.
- Support pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as a technical consultant.
- Guide design consultants on regulations and policies, review submissions, and ensure designs align with requirements and budget in coordination with the commercial team and project management.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of planning and design, with experience in mobility systems being a plus.
- Proven technical leadership experience in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
- Over 20 years of experience in the field.
- Fluency in English; fluency in Arabic is beneficial.
- Solid understanding of all phases of major infrastructure projects.
- Proven ability to work in a customer-facing/consulting environment.
- Strong analytical skills, creativity, communication skills, and presentation skills.
- Understanding and experience in Sustainability and the relationship between Smart and Sustainable Cities.
- Degree educated and Chartered Engineer.
Desired Skills:
- Excellent planning and organization skills.
- Strong understanding of asset-intensive industries (e.g., Rail, Cities, Utilities, Oil & Gas, Highways, Marine/Ports).
- Flexibility in tasks and location and ability to deal well with ambiguity.
