As a Technical Manager, you will:

  • Review and approve discipline staffing assignment schedules for each project.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels, including temporary personnel when needed.
  • Review and approve staff forecasting reports.
  • Manage all engineering and design efforts for all disciplines required for the program.
  • Coordinate discipline staffing requirements for the program.
  • Monitor the quality and progress of designs on each project, ensuring production requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve any existing or forecasted issues related to discipline staffing, quality of work, schedule performance, or productivity.
  • Establish standards and procedures manuals for the discipline and recommend improvements to departmental procedures.
  • Support pre-contract and business development efforts as required, serving as a technical consultant.
  • Guide design consultants on regulations and policies, review submissions, and ensure designs align with requirements and budget in coordination with the commercial team and project management.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of planning and design, with experience in mobility systems being a plus.
  • Proven technical leadership experience in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Over 20 years of experience in the field.
  • Fluency in English; fluency in Arabic is beneficial.
  • Solid understanding of all phases of major infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to work in a customer-facing/consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity, communication skills, and presentation skills.
  • Understanding and experience in Sustainability and the relationship between Smart and Sustainable Cities.
  • Degree educated and Chartered Engineer.

Desired Skills:

  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Strong understanding of asset-intensive industries (e.g., Rail, Cities, Utilities, Oil & Gas, Highways, Marine/Ports).
  • Flexibility in tasks and location and ability to deal well with ambiguity.
