Technical Project Manager

About the Job
The Technical Project Manager will oversee the Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) and Data Centre Networking (DCN) workstream within a large and complex Technology program. The role will report to the Program Director and the PMO, ensuring the seamless delivery of data centre projects. This position demands a strong background in data centre technologies, excellent project management capabilities, and the ability to effectively engage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning and Execution
  Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and risk management for DCI and DCN projects. Lead project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and quality standards.

• Stakeholder Management
  Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including IT, network teams, business units, and third-party vendors. Facilitate regular project meetings to provide status updates and address issues.

• Risk and Issue Management
  Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues. Develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address potential impacts, proactively resolving conflicts.

• Resource Management
  Coordinate resource allocation across DCI and DCN workstreams. Manage team members, ensuring they have necessary tools and support for success.

• Documentation and Reporting
  Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans and status reports. Prepare and present regular progress reports to the Program Director and PMO.

• Technical Expertise
  Provide guidance on data center interconnect and networking technologies. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in DCI and DCN solutions.

• PMO Collaboration
  Align project goals with the overall program strategy, implementing PMO standards and providing feedback to improve project management processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in Project Management within the technology sector, specifically in DCI and DCN projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, compliance, and regulatory requirements in data center operations.
• Proven track record of managing large, complex transformation projects from initiation to completion.
• Familiarity with Project Management tools (Microsoft Project, JIRA, etc.) and methodologies.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification; relevant Data Center certifications are a plus.
