The purpose of this position is to undertake a defined training programme that equips you with the relevant skills and competence necessary to secure a position as a Technician in one of the Engineering Production Departments. You will engage in both technical and soft skills training courses to ensure you are prepared for the responsibilities of the role.

Main Responsibilities
- During Training: Complete all required technical and soft skills training courses and achieve a passing mark in each module, including but not limited to: Induction, O&M Induction, Safety Critical Communications, Internal Customer Service, Lineside Worker/Non-Lineside Worker.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of each Technician role through job shadowing and training within Engineering Production Departments.
- Attend and complete all modules of technical training within your chosen discipline, which aligns with your skills and educational experience.
- Once competent as a Technician, undergo an initial training period within your selected discipline (Rolling Stock, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Services, Civil & Track, and Automatic Train Control & Systems).
- Assist Engineers and Team Leaders in executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Follow appropriate maintenance procedures and work instructions to ensure compliance with established requirements.
- Perform roles necessary for managing a safe system of work, including meeting tight maintenance schedules.
- Produce and maintain accurate maintenance records of equipment performance, work accomplished, and other pertinent information using the maintenance management system.
- Perform shift and emergency duties as required.
- Carry out duties as instructed/directed by the line manager or other senior members of the Engineering & Maintenance department.
Key Skills
- Good eyesight and normal color vision are required.
- Hold a valid driving license with strong driving skills and experience.
- Strong English language skills (both written and spoken).
- Effective communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Capability to write simple technical reports, routine business correspondence, and prepare method statements and drawings as necessary.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Experiences
- Previous work experience in Engineering and Maintenance is desirable but not essential.
Educational Qualifications
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Communication, Mechanical, and/or Civil Engineering discipline is required.
