Position

As an ELV Systems Technician at the company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of planned and reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and remedial repairs on Fire Alarm and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) services and related equipment within the facility. You will need to maintain excellent communication and collaborative relations with colleagues and other departments, demonstrating flexibility and a keen attention to detail while working under pressure.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Conduct and oversee planned and reactive maintenance on Fire Alarm Systems (including smoke and heat detection) and various ELV systems, such as CCTV, Access Control, Intercom, PA, Data Networks, Lighting Control, Car Park Management Systems, Pneumatic Tube Systems, and Satellite & TV Networks.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair Fire/ELV equipment, systems, and maintain daily records.
  • Manage specialist subcontractors and contractual obligations for equipment Defects Liability Period.
  • Conduct regular testing on equipment to ensure efficient operation and reliability.
  • Manage requisition of tools, spare parts, and consumables.
  • Provide training and instructions to end-users regarding Fire/ELV equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Assist in monitoring utility consumption and maintaining corresponding records.
  • Collaborate with other trade staff (Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, and Civil).
  • Participate in overtime, shift work, and out-of-hours work as necessary to maintain operation continuity.

Specific Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a large, complex service organization.
  • Experience in direct line management of staff.
  • Knowledge of employment relations issues such as disciplinary procedures and absence control.
  • Diploma or degree in Computer, Electronic, or IT Engineering.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient IT and word processing skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
